Development and projects

Development is one of the tasks of Tukes. Key development tasks include participation in national and international cooperation in the fields of regulation and instruction, and inter-agency cooperation, as well as various research and development projects.

Current research and development projects include:

  • the development of operating models for market surveillance in order to meet the challenges presented by international online commerce
  • new kinds of safety issues related to the circular economy, such as removing extremely harmful chemicals from the material circulation, or clarifying the safety risks involved in biological waste treatment plants.
  • digitalisation of the services and operations of Tukes, and the transfer to primarily digital services.

We are working in close cooperation with businesses and our other stakeholders. We want to be able to understand out partners and make our operations agile and flexible.
