Processing of personal data at Tukes
Tukes only collects personal data that is necessary for its operations and processes them for predefined specific purposes. Personal data is primarily collected for complying with Tukes’s legal obligations, for the provision of services and for maintaining contact.
‘Personal data’ refers to information that can be used to identify individual persons. These include, for example, a data subject’s name, email address, phone number and personal identity code.
Tukes always has a legal basis for the processing of personal data. In addition, Tukes processes and archives personal data in accordance with good data processing practices, national data protection guidelines and best practices. Personal data is processed carefully and appropriately. Tukes employees also receive regular training in processing personal data.

Data subject’s rights
As a data subject, you have certain rights related to your personal data and their processing at Tukes. These rights are applied depending on the purpose of the data processing.
Processing of personal data at Tukes is primarily based on the complying with Tukes’s legal obligations and the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority. For these purposes, Tukes does not require separate consent from data subjects for the processing of their personal data.

Right to rectification and completion
If you notice that your personal data is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request that the data is corrected or completed. You can submit a written request for rectification by mail or email to Tukes registry office.
Right to restriction of processing
If you feel that the personal data relating to you processed at Tukes is incorrect or that the processing is unlawful and you oppose the processing, you can request the processing of your personal data to be restricted until the accuracy of the data is verified.
Right to withdraw consent
If the processing of your personal data by Tukes is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. You can submit a written request to erase your data to Tukes registry office with the address kirjaamo (at) tukes.fi.
Lodging a complaint to the supervisory authority on the processing of personal data
If you feel that our processing of your personal data is unlawful, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
Storage period
At Tukes, the periods for which personal data is stored are primarily determined by effective legislation. If legislation does not set any minimum requirements or recommendations for data storage periods, by default, personal data is processed only as long as the processing is necessary for the purpose the data was collected for.
Data transfer and disclosure
Tukes does not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU or EEA or to international organisations.
By default, Tukes does not disclose personal data to third parties. Personal data can only be disclosed as required or allowed by effective legislation or with the controller’s consent to other authorities, for example. Access to and transfer of confidential data only occurs 1) with the data subject’s consent, 2) to the data subject themselves or 3) based on a statutory right.
