Tukes authorises the plant protection training and certification providers. Tukes does not provide plant protection certification.

Requirements for becoming an authorised plant protection training and certification provider

You can apply to before an authorised plant protection training and certification provider

• if you have:
• at least a secondary vocational-level degree that includes courses in plant protection products and their use, or
  • work experience in the plant protection industry
• you have acted as training provider
• you have acquired plant protection certification at an examination arranged by a certification provider authorised by Tukes.
• you have participated in training provided by Tukes for plant protection training and certification providers.

How to apply for authorisation to become a plant protection training and certification provider

Tukes organises basic training for people who apply to become plant protection training and certification providers. You can complete the training through an online training program at the time of your choice. You can get more detailed instructions by signing up for the training.

When you have participated in the training organised by Tukes, apply for an authorisation to become a plant protection training and certification provider by filling out the form in the electronic transaction service. You identify yourself to the transaction service, after which you can safely fill in and send the form.

Renewing the authorisation

The authorisation to organise plant protection training and certification will remain valid for five years.

When you need a new authorisation:

• apply for an authorisation to become a plant protection training and certification provider by filling out the form in the electronic transaction service. You identify yourself to the transaction service, after which you can safely fill in and send the form.

• participate in further training arranged by Tukes.

Tukes provides further training for training and certification providers who wish to renew their authorisation. Participate in the training within one year from the date when you were granted the certification to provide training or certification. Next further training will take place in early 2024.

The authorisation to organise plant protection training and certification costs

• 440 e/authorisation if you apply for authorisation to organise either training or certification.
• 550 e/authorisation if you apply for authorisation to organise trainings and certification.
