The lift must be in compliance with the requirements set for lifts, and lift maintenance, repair, service and alteration works may only be carried out by a company with the right to perform work on lifts.

Lifts are subject to various inspections in the course of their lifespan. A new lift is inspected during commissioning. After this, periodic inspections are carried out and lifts are also inspected following alteration works.

Work carried out on lifts requires competence and proper qualifications. The possessor can clean the car interior or replace e.g. a light source or mirror, if such work is performed inside the lift car. Lift work qualification is required for any other kind of work performed on lifts.

When using the lift, your own actions are key for the safety of your lift journey

After a lift is taken into use, the possessor of the lift shall take every measure necessary to ensure the safety of the lift.
