The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) examined the conformity of textiles, child care products and cosmetics included in maternity packages last year. The examination focused on the 2018 version of the maternity package that is provided by Kela and the ”Finnish Baby Box”, which is a maternity package offered by a commercial company. Because consumers have been shopping at online shops outside the EU increasingly often in the past few years, the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) decided to test the safety of products sold in these shops that are popular among Finnish consumers. The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) examined the safety of tattoo and permanent make-up inks. Tukes had a total of 20 tattoo and permanent make-up inks tested. Eight of the tested inks contained chemicals that may cause cancer and be toxic for reproduction: various aromatic amines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, or heavy metals. Säkerhets- och kemikalierverket (Tukes) lät testa fyra robotgräsklippare för användning på egnahemshusgårdar hos SGS Fimko. Inga tekniska säkerhetsbrister upptäcktes hos robotgräsklipparna. Tukes påminner dock om att gräsklipparen kan innebära en risk för mindre djur, såsom igelkottar och ekorrungar.
