Cybersecurity (NIS2)

The purpose of the NIS2 Cybersecurity Directive is to ensure a consistent level of cybersecurity within the European Union.

The national legislation of the NIS2 directive is being drawn up by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The Government's proposal to Parliament for legislation implementing the NIS2 Directive is currently under discussion in Parliament, and the law will not enter into force in the original timeframe. You can keep an eye on the preparation of legislation on the Government website (in Finnish).

Tukes is not authorised to provide instructions or advice regarding the matter before the cybersecurity legislation enters into force. For additional information on the legislative proposal, please contact the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The registration for the list of operators takes place via an electronic service. The link will be announced, once the law has entered into force.

Traficom’s National Cyber Security Centre has put together an NIS2 directive information package on its website. Read about the content and obligations of the directive.
