Derogations in emergency situations

In emergency situations in plant protection, Tukes may grant an authorisation by derogation for using a specific plant protection product for a maximum of 120 days. Granting an authorisation by derogation requires the occurrence of a pest threatening the crops that cannot be averted with any products included in the register or by any other reasonable means.

Tukes may grant an authorisation by derogation for a product that is not authorised for use in Finland. Tukes may grant an authorisation by derogation for a product that has been authorised for use in Finland but for other uses than those the derogation applies to. In recent years, Tukes has issued on an average about a dozen derogations a year.

Updating this list was discontinued in May 2021. Updated data can be found in the plant protection product register. You can search for approved derogations by authorisation type using the advanced search of the plant protection product register.
