I april beviljade Säkerhets- och kemikalieverket (Tukes) tillstånd för ett LNG-mellanlager som färdigställs i Vasklot hamn i Vasa. Lagret har tagits i bruk denna vecka. Lagret för flytande naturgas, alltså LNG, är ämnat för industrin i Vasaområdet industri och för fartygstrafiken mellan Vasa och Umeå. Behovet av flytande naturgas i Finland har ökat sedan importen av naturgas från Ryssland upphörde i maj.

Säkerhets- och kemikalieverket (Tukes) beviljade i augusti tillstånd för terminalen för flytande naturgas (LNG) som byggs vid oljehamnen i Fredrikshamn. Terminalen i Fredrikshamn är den tredje LNG-terminalen i Finland och dess kommersiella användning inleds i början av 2021.
