The authorities wish to remind consumers that homemade masks do not protect the user from the coronavirus. However, if the user of the mask is infected with the virus, the mask may protect others. At worst, homemade protective equipment may even spread the virus, if proper hygiene is not used.

Despite the current high demand for protective equipment, the sale of products that do not conform to requirements is prohibited.
