24.7.2025 | There is a suspicion of a data breach on the FINAS.fi website of the Finnish Accreditation Service. Valtori, the government ICT centre, observed abnormal activities on the server and notified the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency Tukes of the breach on 22 July.

The FINAS accreditation service accredits laboratories, certification organisations, inspection bodies, providers of proficiency testing and for example environmental and greenhouse gas verifiers.

Katriina Luoma, M.A. (Food Science), has been appointed Director of FINAS. She will start in the position on 1 March 2023.
